Door color should help reflect your taste. Do yo have green or blue inside? If so use a dark gray blue or gray green, something strong! Not pastel. If you use reds inside that would be great

With gray you have a neutral palate. What color flowers do you like to use outside ? Coral geraniums! Red ? Make all the elements reflect your taste

The blank wall beside the big window could use a tall plant. Keep the rest of the planting low. Punctuate beside the steps on either side of the steps with nice boxwoods. Tall plants or small trees at the corners of the house.

You could use pots on either side of the front door also which could be rounded or conical box woods or colorful plantings changed out for the seasons. Make sure pots are dark colored

change the railings to thick slate colored wood--very handsome--and leave the shutters off

also I would add several lush and maybe taller shrubs and also round topped boxwood to the left side to fill in that space next to window. Landscaping will make a big difference here. Maybe then I would choose two matching handsome lights for either side of entrance instead of the one--in a darker wood/slate color. Overall, I would focus on landscaping and the entrance. Handsome wooden railings, stone steps, thick trim etc. These few items will make a big difference.
