I am having new carpeting put in and where previously we had carpet wrapped all the way around the edges, we now want to get away from that old look at try to cap the ends with wood, without having to remove the railing but keep it cost effective. I am hearing it will be very labor intensive to try and cut the wood ends around the existing spindles etc. This sounds expensive. Pictures attached.. suggestions?
