    You need a design before you hire a contractor. This is a simple makeover, so draw it out or just explain it clearly to a contractor and they can take it from there.

    Design wise, you need to gut the existing tile and fixtures and bring it up to date. You can keep the locations the same to avoid redirecting the plumbing. Visit some local home stores for your preferences and inform your contractor.
