Shingles are white cedar_used consistently on homes here on Cape Cod. They are often preserved with a bleaching stain or solid color stain. Since this pic, the house was power washed which brought up a lighter tone. Typically cedar shingles "gray" as they age. Hope this helps. Elaine.
