Master bedroom transformation using just paint

last modified: 12 years ago
This client found us on Houzz and purchased an online colour consultation as she wanted to repaint her entire Las Vegas home. We exchanged emails and had a couple of FaceTime calls between Montreal and Las Vegas and came up with a new colour scheme for the entire house. By updating the outdated beige and blue master bedroom (and bathroom) walls with simply a new paint colour (soft silver-blue), the entire master suite was transformed into a brighter, more elegant and serene space. Wait till you see the rest of her beautiful "new" home - look for other before & after posts and check our profile page for Las Vegas home - coming soon!

The silver-blue is the NEW paint colour. Thought it would be more than obvious but apparently not!

Dear Vintage Jazz - it's sometimes very hard to make out colours on devices... and this colour really blurs the line - sometimes looks light blue other times light silver! Thank you for taking the time to comment...

Those frilly pillows on the bed need to go...totally not in keeping with the room.

These pictures illustrate the case for having no accent walls.

    Love the new paint color.

In this case, I agree @leelee, that no accent wall works best. But accent walls can be fantastic - in the right space...

Thank you for your question. It's my new favourite silver/blue for bedrooms! It's called Iced Cube Silver from Benjamin Moore.

Thanks so much for the quick response. I am going to go get a sample today :) We are looking to paint our bedroom a nice gray color like that. And after seeing this room, I am hoping this is the color.

In your second group of pictures the walls have been painted and the frilly pillows are on the bed with the new bed cover--that's what made me think they were still in use. Glad they're not but the pics are misleading.

You should look at your pictures more carefully before posting... ; )

Thanks for the great comments. Rebecca is a visionary designer. I was in a serious crisis. Painters scheduled, no plan in sight. The soft and calm bedroom with the fabulous silver blue both my husband and I preferred to the dark blue and white in the main living areas. The master bedroom is distinct and apart and yet blends with the rest of the house.
From our perspective this is a fabulous transformation and entirely Rebecca's creation.
We couldn't be more happy and appreciative.

@Rugknots Oriental Rugs - thank you for your comments. The furniture, artwork and placement were already done by the client so she gets all the credit for having a great eye. The new colour scheme just made everything she had look so much better.
