Yes, they're coming back in. They work with white cabinets when the homeowner likes them, and wants them in her kitchen.

I love white cabinets with white appliances. However watch out when picking cabinet color. Most appliances are a cool white so pick a cool white for the cabinets.

I am doing white IKEA cabinets and Whirlpool White Ice appliances. Ben Moore super white is working well with that combo.

I agree with Jeanjan; don't choose for example antique white for cabinets if you want white appliances.

I love white appliances. Have not seen too many here California yet...mainly stainless steel...but if you want white cabinets make sure you color match exactly the white of the appliances and understand that even your white appliances could change in color as well as the paint on the cabinets...so one or the other will look dirty later. So, contrast will be a better solution.

My preference for white appliances is to use them in a sleek contemporary kitchen or I like the retro smeg fridges if that's your style. I don't love them as much in more traditional kitchens with the exception of this one I've seen on houzz. Agree with the other comments about making sure the whites match.

that is the image I saw too which started this conversation. So pretty but a bit scary to me too because of the matching and because of the possible discoloration of both appliances and cabinets in only a short while. I don't want to have to redo my kitchen in my lifetime.

My kitchen has been white for over 20 years. The trick to painting cabinets is to finish the paint job with a clear coat of polyurethane. That way you can wash the doors without damage to the paint. Another tip is to use a white that has a tint of color. Very slight but enough so the paint looks white but does not clash with the appliance color. I used a cool green, next to the appliances it looks beautiful and everyone thinks it's white. I also broke up the white with a sage green china cabinet. It is very timeless and will never go out of style. I like your inspiration photo.

Feel free to laugh with me. I thought my kitchen was white until I looked at my photos. I am trying out yellow wall color and have decided to go with a more golden yellow. I am keeping the flooring.

Don't go with white appliances...the white cabinets, plastic handles on the appliances, and painted finish on the appliances will all discolor (turn yellow) at different rates.
