Pale blue or a very light gray that goes with the counters?

I did a mock up with the floors a bit darker and showed two samples of granite that I had saved as pictures. The first one is Colonial Gold, which we used in our kitchen. The second is called Juperana Persa (more expensive) that is a darker yet very striking granite. If there are other granites that you would like me to mock up then just let me know the names and I'll see what I can do.

Your cabinets are really nice, and Kevin's mock-up with darker floors looks great. I would not go any darker. Have you thought of "white" granite? It's never really white, and there are some beautiful colors and patterns. This looks more updated to me, or maybe I'm just sick of my (and everyone else's) standard brown granite as in Kevin's second picture.

i think something in the white/off white family for countertop and then you can use any color of wall paint you want just about......and can easily change the wall color later down the road if you want to. the color that genevieve suggested is lovely, but you will have more choices with just a light countertop i think.

I don't think you can go wrong with black counters and white subway tiles. Classic combination with your cabinetry. What is the style of the rest of the space? That will dictate which direction to go more than anything.

applepie, not sure about the lighting, it came with the house.
