I agree w/contractor...plus there is always a fake feeling when you try to imitate another material

I suppose it is a matter of taste; I like the tile that looks like hardwood, particularly in pale shades.

I say no, do not get ceramic tile that looks like wood. Just get those vinyl planks that look like wood. They're not real wood, which can get very expensive, but if you have dogs they are great. Tile is hard, cold and some people can't even walk on it without it affecting their bodies negatively! I wish I could remove the tile from my kitchen and just put in all hardwood floors. Soon enough.
