I am undecided about the best choice of window treatments for our family room. Our house is casual Mediterranean. This is an open floor plan which includes the family room, kitchen and dinette area and can be seen from the front entrance.

20' ceilings
6' x 6' lower windows
7' x 6' upper arch windows
5' +/- wall space between windows
ICF concrete walls

Questions
1. Should windows be treated with panels from top of arches? Material suggestions?

2. Considering framing top arch windows with columns and arches in architectural foam and then using panels or sashes on bottom windows. Is this ok? Material suggestions?

3. Open to any new suggestions, too.
