It looks like your area is pretty limited. You have a dominant color of brown, and you also have turquoise. I think a sectional will be too large for your space here.

A three seat couch against the wall and maybe a single seater would fit comfortably. The worst thing you could do here is overcrowd it and make it feel smaller than it is. That means you need to carefully measure your furniture choices.

We were thinking 2-3000$ for the couch, a bit extra for tables and accessories. We are willing to extend this a bit though if we find the right pieces. We will need to buy items so I want to make sure I pick the right ones. The back wall is rather long compared to the narrowness, so I'm afraid it will seem 'empty' at both corners.

As for the top of the fireplace, we might install a tv at some point (still undecided). However, we have our main tv in another room so this wouldn't be used on a regular basis.

We are situated in Canada (Ontario).

I would go for an apartment size sofa and chair or sectional. I would even go so far to say catty corner the sofa to be in direct line with the fireplace with a sofa table behind it. (ignore the poor height of the mirror - lol)
