I've never done this before but am thinking if converting a credenza/buffet into our bathroom vanity. I found this cool Heywood Wakefield credenza on Craiglist and am looking at it tonight. Price is good and this would go well in our MCM home.

Dimensions are great. 54" wide and 34" high. But only 18" deep so may have to play with top I select to make it deep enough to drop in a sink bowl.

I would lose the function of the full-width top drawer and probably half of the depth of the center stack of drawers. But this is solid wood and in good shape.

So. What do I need to look out for? Does this seem doable? Do I need to treat the finish?
