i like the above idea a lot, but it will cut some light out, also i think this version is a halogen lamp, so there is a lot more heat involved, and it cannot attach the same way as the above hatetoshop example. you can spray it white or silver. or bronze for that matter. but it will still be the same lamp :). you can buy a new one for under 100$...

Agree with Flair -- these lamps were inexpensive and, really, not worth putting much time or money into.

No. Toss it. They are beyond ugly. I had one in 1989, almost burned the building down.
