help with marble cut

excuse the drawings...I selected this striated modern marble. how should I have the marble cut? I always expected to have it cut on a diagonal but the fabricators said that wouldn't work well? thoughts?

People are talking about two different types of diagonals. The waterfall is easier to do, the one in your drawing is only possible with the highest level of cabinet install which is really unlikely if the kitchen wasn't prepared in advance for such a seam. Don't force the issue, you will probably regret it if the stone installers advise against it.

I think I would like opyion 2 but I would ask why the fabricators are saying no, maybe it has something to do with how the marble cuts I am not sure or maybe they are just lazy.

I don't know of any fabricator in our area that would do a diagonal cut such as your Option 2. Walls are not plumb and square and it would be almost impossible to make it work to a homeowners satisfaction.

My fabricators do those cuts all the time and also I do a lot of waterfall edges and panels which are all 45 degree cuts

Thanks for your feedback. The fabricator is coming to measure today and I will push for the diagonal cut...

There is a possibility of the edge chipping if you do a diagonal cut

They said we can do the diagonal cut after all..Install is next week so I'm crossing my fingers. will post the results! I just know I'd be unhappy with the other cut. thanks for all ur feedback.
