Hi there, thanks very much for your question. I have seen people use either one or two effimero pendants above the kitchen sink. To replace a can light, you have a couple of choices. If it's a single can, you can purchase a conversion kit (for example westinghouse model 0101100, widely available online), and put in a single pendant. If you want to convert a single can to multiple pendants, that is a bit more work, and we would strongly recommend consulting a licensed electrician.
