Thank you everyone. I knew it wouldn't work for just anyone, but she did find a home in Lincoln, NE, and they are using her for their media center. They had to get it down their basement stairs too. All the hardware is 100% original as far as I can tell (didn't paint any of it myself). I can't believe the cost of furniture these days, which is why so many are choosing vintage and applying their own style.

I still need to find something similar in a 50" to 60" max for daughter. She is thinking of a peacock green color or something along those lines. With winter coming and having cats in the house it's kind of difficult to paint, so probably will wait until warm spring days.

I love that idea. I used a dresser that my son had in college. Looking bad was an understatement. It looked awful! We took the top off of it, and put new Aspen lumber on top at 28 in. wide and stained it. Then covered the back and sides with bead board, and a couple of coats of paint, it began to come back to life. The hardware on it was so unusual I kept it, cleaned it up, and gave it a good coat of nickle paint. It was originally a "Quail Unlimited" dresser by Lane. The pulls had quail embossed into them. Sort of a 3D effect. It is now an island in my kitchen. all 64 inches of it. My friends and family have just loved it. There is life after being a dresser.

Its completely new! I love the colors you decided to go with.
