Try searching "small rustic cabin" (without quotes). You'll get better results.

I love rustic as well, and one thing we're doing [since we aren't millionaires] is putting in knotty pine doors and trim. We're going with oil rubbed bronze doorknobs and other fixtures to give it an old look as well.

We plan on redoing our bathroom in the next year or so, and I'm hoping I can find a wood look tile to use for the shower surround. I already have a porcelain mosaic tile for the floor, but think using wood look tile would add an old rustic look to the bathroom.

Besides knotty pine, you could get old reclaimed wood to put on a couple of walls. One place I would look for weathered wood is a fence company to see if you can get some of the stuff they haul away. There are a lot of old fences in my neighborhood that were never stained so they're very gray and weathered, and would look great as an accent wall. You can also weather your own wood using white vinegar and steel wool--not SOS pads, just steel wool used to clean parts. You let it sit for a day or so, and then paint it on the wood. I haven't done it, but have seen several videos of it on youtube.

You can also get knotty pine wainscotting to go on the wall. You can stain it or leave it natural if you like. I was talking to a neighbor yesterday who is renovating his home, and I noticed that he likes the rustic look so I commented on it. He then showed me his bus he's renovating with the knotty pine wainscotting--looked very nice!

Another thing I've done to add that funky look to my house is to make curtains out of painter's drop clothes. The drop clothes need to be wash in very hot water to soften them up, and then you have a huge piece of oatmeal colored linen that makes very rustic curtains. Sewing a casing with a small ruffle on top is pretty easy although ironing them isn't. I used starch, and made my own with corn starch and water.

@ cemourot; Love it "millionaire rustic" Hayley has good ideas. For your sauna, check out wood heated saunas. A friend had one as well as a wood heated wooden hot tub, and it was great. You just had to plan ahead. There are lots of plans and instructions on line for building your own.

Just a side story. My friend that had the wooden hot tub came by the shop one day and asked if I had any saw dust. (well, does a bear s--- in the woods?). The hot tub was leaking through some of the stave joints. She dumped the sawdust into the water and stirred it up, as it leaked through the cracks, the sawdust plugged them. All was well.

"Regular people rustic" can mean re-using garden things from estate sales. Older ceramic pots, birdbaths, garden tools and so on can often be found before or after a house goes up for sale in our area's estate sales. A source of old wool blankets is ebay. Many can be washed in Woolite and line dried.
