Kitchen! Before(sorta) and After

So, I bought my house in Early April and have managed to completely renovate my first floor. Background, it's a 1931 craftsman bungalow so I wanted to keep the design simple and clean. I'm a fan of full modern but with this house not happening.

The cabinets are a white painted shaker cabinet. Counters a a light great quarts and the backsplash is a white marble blend.

I am looking to get an old stay butcher block or stainless prep table for the center.

Let me know your thoughts.

I added the weathered pewter hardware everywhere except above the fridge. I've been lazy.

As for the backsplash I wanted a slightly different approach on the normal herringbone. I love it.

Your remodel is lovely. And yes, I would definitely put in a butcher block island. You have the room for it.. It would add work space and create a cozy meeting place for family and friends while preparing meals or having a morning cup of coffee. A pot rack or hanging light fixture would help to anchor the island. The exposed brick chimney is great. Love that look.

YOU are asking us? Fabulous job exposing the brick and mixing the countertops in a small space. Not everyone would have the guts to do that. Looks wonderful. You decide on the island, I'm sure it will be right. Sometimes you need to wait and live with something until it comes to you.

My computer isn't letting me attach for some reason, but a 24x24" butcher block on metal legs and wheels would be nice and combine a little modern feel. There are a couple on the products page. I have seen those in cottages combined with cottage look and works, gives a place for appetizer or just flowers or something quirky and frivolous to display without taking counter space from work area.

Looks great! Well done. Love the cocktail shaker, front and centre. lol I might add a chalkboard of some sort on the wall opposite [to the left of the door]...and perhaps a towel rack to the right of the door for some chic tea towels, oven mitts, etc. [or hang them off the new moveable island]. Thanks everyone for the encouragement!

As for the paint, it is Sedate Grey by Sherwin Williams.

I did put up large vintage French wine ad next to the rear door, 24x36 and it's mostly black so it adds contrast.

I do really like that island/cart project, I might another project in my future haha.

Sean, love the backsplash! I am planning a kitchen redo with subway tile backsplash but didn't want to do the patterns I have seen-thanks for showing this. Made my decision:)
