Hmmm. Just for a starting place, I think it will be difficult to make the front of the garage NOT look like it is a conversion without some major work. The concrete driveway is a giveaway.

In the save money category, could you frame up and insulate a solid wall on the inside of the garage door? The garage door would still be visible from the street.
Could you install one or more windows for the bedroom in the exact same style as the other windows of your house on the side wall of the garage (the wall of the garage that is on the right side of the image)?

In the "major work" category, you could build a bumped-out covered porch in front of the garage and put the front door of the house there. Remove the current front door and install a window in its place. Change the driveway to a circular style and re-do all the landscaping.

Unless you have more of that stone on hand to fill in where the garage door is, you're going to end up with a room that looks like a garage conversion. You could reside the entire house if it's in your budget.

Years ago, I did exactly as nasmijati suggested: built a fake wall inside after disconnectlng the functionality of the garage door. Also took out the wall between the garage and living room to make it larger. Worked Great! People were totally amazed when they walked through the front door!

Have you checked with the local building department ?
Will they let you remove your garage ?

My suggestion is similar to the ones above, you can leave the garage door in place and build a new wall approximately 4 feet back from the garage door. You will still have some storage behind the garage door and the front of the house will not change in appearance.......

well follow suit! I like the single window look. things that will help are moving the drive way so it curves left, not parking in front of the new bedroom. and then re do to the landscape to make that portion feel like it was always that way.

Another way of looking at this project. Why don't you keep it looking like a garage door from the outside. I would upgrade to a more decorative door, but you can put draperies inside and even a faux sheetrock wall that would be easily taken down if needed. No one will ever know that there is a remodel behind that garage door, except you.

I would put 3 large potted ficus and jasmine on both sides after 5 months it would start blend in. Or 2 maturing bouganvillea would swallow that all up in 3 years.
