Goldendoodle vs. Hardwood Floors

We acquired a 90 lb golden doodle nearly 2 years ago, he is the best dog ever. However, our existing hardwood floors have taken a beating although we keep his nails trimmed. Any ideas on how we might re-finish our traditional oak hardwood floors that would hold up better to Murphy?

Julie, I have two labs and hardwood floors on my entire first floor. We did have carpet in the family room and I just replaced it with hardwood. My contractor suggested we go with a low sheen so the wear and tear from the beasts is less noticeable. Nothing stops the eventual wear and tear, but hopefully it will be less noticeable. There are several flooring contractors on Houzz, hopefully they can weigh in with a professional opinion. Cancork Flooring always has great advice on hardwood floors. Good luck, your pup is adorable!
