Are these 8 or 9 foot ceilings?

Are these 8 or 9 foot ceilings? We have 9 foot ceilings and would like cabinets to the ceiling, but don't want to have the small ones at the top, just one big one...

The ceilings are 81/2 feet in my opinion.
Lower cabinets are 36 inches. The uppers are 42 inches. the crown molding is 6 inches. The space between is between 18 and 24 inches.

Hi Thanks for asking - the kitchen above has 8 foot ceilings with 18 inches from top to the bottom of the upper cabinets. The attached photos show one with 8 foot and the upper door proportional, the other three show 9 foot ceilings with custom built cabinets that we did with one cabinet but two doors - all to keep the space in the proper scale and proportion. If you build a cabinet with the upper cabinet having one big door I feel you don't get the proper feel and it will look too tall.
    thanks hope that helps

the top right photo shows what we had to do because the soffit could not be removed left of the sink so we used a smaller cabinet box.
