This wonderful and warm wood floor is built the way wood floors have been built for over a century. They are solid Red Oak, 2-1/4" wide by 3/4" thick tongue and groove planks, blind nailed (nails are placed in the tongue and covered by the next planks groove), sanded in place, stained and then finished with 3 coats of an oil based polyurethane product with a satin finish. Definitely use the oil based product as it give a much warmer cast to the wood than a water based product.
