Benjamin Moore Dove White-- the right white?

Thank you everyone in advance for your input. I appreciate you offering your time.

My home is a wonderful Georgian style that we have been in for twelve years. My style has gradually changed from traditional to a cleaner transitional to modern look. I am having the painter come in 2!!! days and am getting nervous about my choice.
Currently the crown mouldings, baseboards, doors, etc are Navajo White by Benjamin Moore. It is simply too yellow for me. I believe Dove White is my choice. I want a fresh white, but not stark or cold. Wall colors are on the earthy spectrum--green, gold, brown and not blues or grays. We're talking 30 doors, and a ton of moulding!
Also, should I expect him to have to prime the trim in order to cover the Navajo?

I am going to use BM paint, but have decided to use their Simply White. At least I think I am! Good grief-- I do better making life & death decisions, how crazy is that?!!

After narrowing it down and bringing samples home, the White Dove does not look like I had hoped with the Sherwin Williams brown in my great room, and the Simply White works better with the BM Cork paint in my office. The hint of gray in the White Dove is more noticeable next to those two paints.

Life is good when this is my biggest worry!

There are so many variances of white. I would start with your painters top picks for trim. He can probably tell you how light effects certain shades and what would work best in your home.

My all time favorite white is by Behr. It is called Plantation White. It is delicious and clean looking. Goes great with sage. Not too stark, not too yellow, not too blue, not too pink...pretty much perfect.

I have Dove White also but prefer the Plantation White. Maybe because it's different location, different house but it's certainly worth getting a sample and comparing the two or three or four on poster boards around the house...good luck! Fresh paint is wonderful!

I think it's called White Dove.I see the name changed around though all the time, so, maybe it's just me. :))

Anyway, I also have Ben Moore White Dove trim. There is really no way to guess how it might look in your home, so ritzs and auntiebuzzybee (Love that name, btw!) both have good suggestions. I chose White Dove after reading that it was a top decorator trim choice. Navajo White does have a definite undertone. In my home, White Dove is warm but clean and I am very happy with it. I have all four exposures and I like how it looks in all. Good luck!

Some of the most popular off-white trim and cabinetry colors on Houzz are White Dove, Cloud White, and Decorator White. I love White Dove, but all three are beautiful.

In the past we used white dove quite often, but for that cleaner look that doesn't seem cold or dingy, I have been using Benjamin Moore White for the last few years. It is crisp and doesn't really have a tint that seems yellow or grey.

I was looking for the same color - not stark, not too yellow. We went with Sherwin Williams Venetian Lace. Hard to find in the color section, ask for a sample at the desk. Very happy with it and works fine with the plantation shutter and wood blind options we are considering and our recently installed marvin windows and sliders.

I like the Navajo white for the walls and lighter white for trim. Yes I would think navajo would be too beige for your trim.

Is you existing trim painted with oil base paint or a water based product.

So happy you found your white! I think it's wonderful to get paint ideas from the web, but your experience shows why the paint has to be tested in the room it's to be used in. There's no such thing as a "perfect" paint color, despite what we read.
