I thought about that but the width of the singles is 8 feet and tight width for going in and out of the opening (mirror possible damage on car) - 18 feet gives more luxury and allows space for driving in and out. Removal of the door and post happened last week. I now have large piece of plywood on the opening Im confronted about picking a colour. lol

Try to have garage door color that blends with the brick I never understand why people make these a focal point and I agree with keeping the 2 doors is more in keeping with the style of the house. As for trim color I would choose someting like the color above the brick and then another colour for the door if it is going to be solid below the transom or just the same as the trim if it is glass

Are the windows paintable? I do like a muted trim color over white with the brick, but if the windows are vinyl, you may be stuck with white.

use two off-setting colors unique to your home.

I'm not sure I'd do a stark black, but on my above example the sashes are a darker taupe than the trim.

Thanks, in ref to an overall appealing look, and if the home is for sale. This is the first I've seen a soffit with such a wide board area. IMO to start, the soffit area should be subdued so it doesn't make the house appear to be lower for the lack of better words. A matching color in the brick, then maybe a slightly lighter color coming off the new color for the soffit for the garage door. Lot's of potential here, could be a classy looking front, just needs a small tune-up. :) I would never do a black garage door, JMO. st

It's a mistake to do that. Here's a better idea. Depending on the character of your home, look for unique doors. They have roll up doors that look like old carriage doors. Look for something like that. Then spend your money on epoxy floors or nice wood moldings etc for the inside of the garage. Just one man's opinion.

One more thought: Don't do white again.
