Here are a few suggestion to get you started.

1. You could add a long rug down the hallway
2. On the empty wall space add a large mirror, artwork or collage of pictures.
3. Various decor items on the empty shelf
4. Large scale light fixture in the hallway would add more depth and drama.

Wow, what nice pictures! I'm visual, so seeing things really helps.

The idea of having more mirrors seems to be ok. I've been thinking of having a wall clock inserted in a mirror frame as I like more functional things: before leaving you aways need some kinda final look at the clock, at least me.
