(Face --> Palm) ... it's called being out of focus. The focus is on the stairs in the forefront and the model was moving while the photograph was taken during a long exposure. That's why the light and the model's upper body have a glowing type effect to them. It's a common photographic technique to round out lighting. The model also doesn't have sickle hands as you called it. It's an artifact of the photo. And even if the model did, it would not take away from the photo. And medically speaking, it's called lobster claw, by the way.

This was a long way of saying your comment is stupid.

You know you could've explained, without being so rude, pablomsu. And if someone feels that the model does take away from the staircase, that's there OPINION, and isn't right or wrong, it just is. Clear your a little out of focus with people's feelings, and maybe you should think before you post.

I did think about it, actually. The thing is: the original post was ignorant and bigoted. As if someone with a deformity weren't worthy of being photographed. And it was clear they had no conception of the artistic license. Additionally: 9 people agree with me (see the likes on my comment). Meanwhile, you're the only one defending the ignorance of the bigot. So this is my polite rebuttal to your policing of the comments section. I'm OK with what I wrote. When people are that ignorant, sometimes they need to be made aware. It bothers me when people worry so much about being politically correct. How about not being a bigot?

If someone is ignorant, we shouldn't be rude to them, they don't know any better. We should show them the truth with tact, and kindness. NOT mime face palming them, because of it. They also didn't mean someone with a deformity shouldn't be photographed, they merely thought it was distracting to have a model with strange looking hands.

By the way, your rebuttal wasn't polite. You accused me of being a bigot (I'm not), you also said I policed the comments section, just because I defended a naive person from your uncalled for rudeness.

Let's end this here shall we, that's a very attractive interior designer moving through the shot, I don't have any images of her where she isn't moving and if she stands still, nobody is going to look at the staircase. There is blurring when someone moves through a backlit shot like this & details blur. This image has been downloaded to idea books more than 24 thousand times, people seem to like it, it's a beautiful staircase with a beautiful woman moving through it to provide scale.
