This is a tudor style home.

The detailing is found in many homes located in some of the older neighbourhoods around Toronto. This particular home was built in the early 1900's.

We did a very substantial full gut and three storey addition. The work included a complete rebuilding of the rear wall - the one pictured here.

The brown colour of the detailing is typical of Tudor style homes. The combination of a light coloured stucco and brick or stone was also a very common materials used in this period.

Homes built at the time that this home was would usually have had much smaller windows than the ones we used in the renovation. This was done to maximize the natural light on the interior spaces. Careful consideration was given to the proportions of the window light sizes and mullion thickness.

The homeowners wanted to maintain the traditional Tudor detailing as much as possible.
