Gap at the top of refrigerator

We bought the counter depth refrigerator but unfortunately the water line does not allow for the refrigerator to go all the way in. Additionally, there is a gap between the top of refrigerator and the bottom of our cabinet. Any advice as to best way of filling that gap?

You need air space and as for the water line I have never had this problem I would get the plumber back and make him redo this I have had 3 different counter depth fridges and have never had this problem.

It looks like you have some type of under cabinet trim so I would use that to cover most of the space. Just leave about an inch for air circulation.

Get a strip of wood and paint it to match the cabinets. Just set it on top of the fridge. The gap is obvious because it's dark.

Even if you had to make an indention by cutting the drywall behind the fridge you should be able to make the water line work.

Your cabinet manufacturer may offer flat or decorative moldings finished with the color on your cabinets. As an example, when I look in the Merillat catalog, they offer 3" starter moldings. 2 5/16 rabbetted mirror moldings.
