Love the grey wall. Very striking. I would look for a colorful large rug to brighten up the room. Especially since your new couch is slate colored. Earthtones can be calming and brighten at the same time. Reds, oranges and greens.

What's your budget like? Can you afford a custom built tv unit and fireplace surround to take up that wall? The reason I ask is because right now your fireplace doesn't look to scale with the window. Everything is very dainty. But you have a lot of linear space. So if you could bulk up and build up, that would balance you space more.

I do want to consider a build in - any pictures to share?

I agree with the built in idea.. right now the fireplace and TV are fighting to be the focal point. Something clean and modern to tie the wall together.. Maybe expand the fireplace widthwise. Search houzz for "fireplace with tv." I would definitely get a professional in their to help you design and build up the space. It could look spectacular! Hey Mark, these are some great comments. I would also consider hanging the mirror in line with an entrance way so it expands the feel of your room. You could then put pictures or a piece of art above the fireplace, though as someone pointed out you would want the fireplace to line up with the windows and the TV and art to line up. Here is one suggestion on a piece that could work

Definitely need something other than that mirror over the fireplace -- preferably something with substantial graphical presence and bringing some color into play.

Also, while I like the idea of built-ins here, I'd say (1) look for photos that keep the TV next to the fireplace rather than over it (for ergonomics as well as design reasons), and (2) keep in mind that your fabulous wall of windows is really the focus of the room, so try to keep your fireplace wall a little understated (the color is a good start -- dramatic without being busy).
