Colous?

I'm in need of advice!
What colour should my trim be?
The floor is silver maple, walls a light green-grey, the built in will be pine stained expresso and we will have a drop ceiling that will be white.
We are having trouble picturing furniture and trim colour.
HELP!

Well the doors are still tbd! This is a basement Reno, starting from scratch. Doing the mock up with the white trim something seems off to me? Do you think these colours work together?

I guess it depends on your style. I love a crisp clean white or soft white for trim.... some people don't. With the other colors you have so far....I probably would do a softer white if the stark white bothers you. Good luck! :)

So, the only element in this space that is white is the ceiling? Using white trim will add another detail and make the space busier. You might be better off keeping all of the trim / woodwork the same color. Doing this will make the room more cohesive. Basic trim is not interesting enough to call attention to.

Okay, you got it! I'll search around to show you rooms with similar color or at least darker furniture/lighter floor and white trim. It will help you see how you like it. Give me a bit. :) I'm sure you'll get more help, but sometimes seeing is believing. LOL ;)

I'm going to vote for the espresso trim if it's narrow like in the picture you posted. Reason? The eye is drawn TO bright objects or injects that are in sharp contrast to their surroundings, whereas the eye is drawn away from objects that are similar in color, tone, etc.
Assuming this is a basement, correct? If so, the ceilings are probably fairly low..so you want to keep your wall and floor colors fairly similar in tone/contrast so to make the eye "see" the room as taller. Plus, you want people to focus on fabulous artwork/furniture on or against the walls instead of baseboard trim.
I love the flooring you've chosen and the wall color! Be sure to post some photos when the room is finished. It's going to be great!
