White for sure!!!!!!

But, if you also have an option for taller trim, I wish I would have selected that when our house was built.

We have wood, but most pictures you look at now days have white, so I'd say white.

Back in the late 80' and 90's, a stained wood trim package was an upgrade in my area. Fast forward to 2014 and virtually none of my buyers like or want a whole house of stained wood. All they talk about is how dark and outdated it looks and how much work it will be to paint. The windows in your pictures are white, paint the trim white, as well.

Either package seems to be missing crown molding. Is that an oversight, or is it not included?

Really depends upon which one makes you feel comfortable.

I love natural wood, and usually go for the red tones over the dark wood. With that said, I love white accents. Especially when it comes to crown molding.

In the first picture you are using nice warm colors in the bedspread, so that lends to the white looking beautiful.

In the second picture, you need to go with the same colors, or at least with some color. You have only neutrals so it is difficult to give an opinion.

Hi, no there is no crown molding. And I can have any paint color I choose. And yes, the wood the builder uses is a darker type wood. I really wanted to go with light gray walls throughout the house (instead of a paint color in the taupe/tan family).

Oh and these are pics from staged model homes, so none of the furniture or bedding is mine. I am just trying to decide to do the wood trim (window trim and baseboards ) throughout the house in wood, or stick with the white.

The white will be much more versatile.

here are a few pics of the model home with white - now imagine dark wood trim instead of the white. i would not be getting the white paneling that is shown in this photo. I wonder how the big window would look in dark wood trim? Maybe its too much?

If I go with the white trim, I can have the fireplace as shown in the pic or go with a stacked stone fireplace. If I go with the wood trim, the fireplace will look like the one in the pic except with the wood. (or once again, I can get a stacked stone fireplace). The floor is solid oak, but I would also prefer it a little darker. Thanks everyone!

When did a ''molding package'' start to not include crown? Freaking spec builders. Jeez. If you're gonna dress for a dinner date, you fix your hair and put on makeup. I would hope anyway. A molding package without crown is only half of a package. It's missing the star attraction of molding. It's Priscilla without Elvis. It's Hutch without Starsky. It's Trapper without Hawkeye. It's the Beatles without John or Paul. It's Michelle without Barack. ''Molding'' without crown? Heresy!

Both the white and the dark finish is really very nice. Because the window over the bed is so high...I would like to draw less attention to it... so I would say white would be the choice...and of course you will have some kind of window treatment that will soften and complete the room....right?

White. Will never become outdated

White of course, the frames are far too thick and with wood gives a heavy '80's feel.

Are you really set on the stacked stone for the fireplace?
It's an unusually simple and elegant design and with that very nice panelling would be far more versatile deco-wise than with stone.
Agree that it deserves crown molding.
