I'll be interested to see what you find out. I have the same issues with an open concept space. I like like light and neutral colors but not the stark white/black/gray that is so popular right now. I did "google" danio reale and got a few kitchen pictures. Good Luck!

Julie , I am not sure where you are based but marble is not a good idea for a kitchen floor , crema marfil is better than most but you have to be careful with the quality as you would with Danio Reale. However we import to the UK man made marble , like marble each piece is different and as it is made from porcelain , it is harder than granite , no sealing or issues with staining or of course batch quality - if you are in the UK we can help. Hi Julie , can do counter tops in this porcelain , please look at website www.tilesupplysolutions.com - for materials look at immense range. Pictures show man made calacatta marble. Sorry for my misunderstanding. None of the those marbles would be a good plan for a kitchen worktop in my view.

It looks like a higher grade travertine. It does have a lot going on and may actually look better with a high hone as opposed to a polished finish this will definitely hide the etches and scratches that will inevitably come. If you are not the type to examine your counters so closely and don't notice little imperfections you may get away with this for an island it does look beautiful. But you will need to get it refinished on occasion. If you want something really maintenance free then I would skip it. However don't write off the granites so fast. I have seen some beautiful cream colored granites that did not have the grainy look you don't like. Try a few different places. Many shops have just standard selections but some places offer more exotic and extensive options Try to find one of those.

Maybe try a granite with brown and gray? Cold Springs is what we just put it. Our stone place suggested marble for baths but kitchen- no. Here is a pic of the granite.

It is a porcelain tile. I don't know the make and model I know the homeowner purchased it from a local tile store here in NJ called Renaissance Tile their phone # 732 961 1515. I would ask them which tile did that customer purchase but I don't know if it's right to post there name. I will call the tile store and ask which make and model it is and get back to you.

Just wanted to see if you ended up with the Daino Reale. I just found the same marble and fell in love with it for my kitchen. Now I am seeing lots of posts warning against marble in the kitchen. I totally agree with your thoughts, love the warm look, not a fan of all the greys, and I don't love the high contrast specles you see on a lot of granite. Which way did you decide to go?

Marble is not a good choice for a kitchen work top - if you actually use the kitchen. Looks great in showrooms, but not a practical choice.

I saw a cream and grey granite that was subtle at a local home store, but they said it was only available for bathrooms and I didn't understand. Has anyone used one they love? Thank you.
