Floating Shelves in Contemporary Space?

This is my living area. I am looking to add a few modern touches near the TV/fireplace . Any thoughts about 3 inch floating shelves with puck lights? Will need to replace bottom cabinet also. There is absolute NO BUDGET to build/renovate ;-(
As well, the TV has to stay (no longer fighting that battle). Please help.

I would just do art work and maybe some with a little more colour you can then choose for some accent in this space.

Yes, if you do a classy upscale version. No, if you plan to pick up something at the big box decor store.

bigger TV one that covers all your plugs and wires. You can pull the cable from the entrance to behind the tv with a 3' flex bit. Right now that would be my priority for a better look

I wouldn't clutter it up with shelves and the little things that go on them. Try to add a clean silver framed vertical mirror and a colored glass tall table lamp in front of it to bounce light and color from that corner. Good luck!

Deco, those are the exact same pictures I looked at today. Bigger TV is definitely on the to do list. Craig, do you have any photo examples of you suggestion?
