We need help in making a workable design in our den. We just moved into our first house and this room has us totally stumped. It seems someone must have put a fireplace in after the house was built. Its location makes no sense. As you come down stairs it takes almost the whole wall but its right next to a door outside. The previous homeowners set up a tv above it but we don't really like that. We feel like the fireplace should be a focus on its on. Plus the roku and xbox etc aren't going to fit on the mantel! We want a way to watch tv in what appears to be the original nook for the entertainment center but also enjoy our fireplace. And also design the room to not have awkward empty spaces. We can't make any furniture look right in there. We would be willing to buy new stuff if we just had a good idea of how to deal with the space. I made a very poor sketch of the room and put up some pictures. Don't mind the terrible flooring..its on the someday soonish list! Thank you!
