Can you put it up next to the sliding door wall or the wall where the hook is?

When I see the sunny dining area as shown above, I think the chairs you saw yesterday would be pretty at each end. I know it is not fun to worry about who sits there and if a mess gets made, so wondering if they have that style of chair in a material that could be wiped off instead of a fabric?

You all are so kind. I'd get the chairs and tell the kids to stay away from the chairs!!!! It's not like there aren't a ton of other places they can sit. LOL!

A warm grey paint is Benjamin Moorre Revere Pewter HC-172. The 2 pictures between the windows are still too high and can be a bit closer together. Yes, center your mirrow over the Love seat. Room looking very nice.

If you get a color strip from ben moore for edgecomb gray, you'll see revere pewter too. Revere pewter is one shade darker.

Hi abbyjean, Ann and Margo, I've been "lurking" here watching what you three have been up to! :-) LOVE how this space is coming together. Yes, there is fabric glue. I have purchased mine in the past from HSN....will hold up to washing as well.

I like edgecomb grey by BM, I think it is HC-173. It is a soft and very warm grey......I have a similar sign (We laugh....a lot). I ended up putting mine in the half bath because it was a good shape and size for above the toilet. :) It may seem like a strange place for it, but I think everyone actually reads it in the bathroom!

I always just "follow" along and am never disappointed. You all have done a wonderful job. I just wondered if a "heavier" looking ( not sure correct word) floor lamp would be better? Just seems a little lost in the corner. The entire room is looking great.

I like so much that these group of Houzers try to work with what you have before suggesting you purchase everything new. Sometimes new is necessary but not always first choice. Your room is lovely.

Oh I just thought of something I can ask all of you! can you look at the pictures above of the entrance into my home. My interior front door is a gray/black. Do you think I should paint our coat closet door the same color as the front door? (The closet door is the white door with the small green wreath that has become limp and needs a pick me up!)

I'd keep the closet door white if that's the same as the rest of your interior doors.

I have these cream colored curtains lying around. Which ones do you think look better. The cream or the original beige design ones?

I never minded what you had hanging in this room......but I am wondering, if you have extra drapes....what about putting them on the deck door to lighten those up? OR if you like the ones you just found while shopping your house....good girl.....put the others on the deck door.

The color on the slider now.....is there anything else in the room that color? If it ties in with something that I cannot see, I agree it works just fine. Otherwise, just from looking at pics of your home here, it just seems like the lighter color goes with the table and hutch and the other room?????

For me, when I sit in one space, I like to see things the same........Margo....thoughts? You know I am fine if you disagree? It might be just me.

I am one who usually likes things mixed but compliments. These curtains could easily be mixed, but all cream would look great too. Half the time I recommend no curtains but not in this case;)

I do like the cream in the living room, but I also liked what was there. Also, I don't think it would be bad to have the cream in the living room and leave the current ones on the sliding door. I guess if it were my house, I wouldn't buy any new ones but I'd use some combination of what you've got, since they're all pretty nice. I think the floor lamp is more important and possibly those Target end chairs for the table. The idea of end chairs for the table has really grown on me and I did rather like those light blue ones.

I suggest 2 different rugs to add layers to the texture of the room as well as create "areas". Something like this perhaps?

Well, love_design, looks like you've had a lot of help and accomplished quite a bit in just the first week of your first post. Congratulations! Your sitting area looks great! Just a thought regarding the question of the rug under the kitchen table. I personally don't like them for just the reason Margo gave -- they're "crumbcatchers".

I'm wondering if you're thinking you need a rug because you're feeling a need for texture there and the first place most of us look for that in an eating area is the floor. Perhaps adding a textured runner on the table or maybe chair cushions could give you that feel instead. I probably wouldn't want a full length runner with that table but covering perhaps 3/4 of the length would do the trick. Great job to you and all your Houzz helpers!!

The rooms look pretty well typed together. Try a different color table and chairs to match with the bar and bra stools.

I know many of you think the mirror should stay, however, I find it too large and not in scale with the small sofa - its size and large dark frame makes your eye go to the mirror first instead of the lovely room.
A blue tone on tone area rug and navy drapes would ground the room and give it a more cohesive look. I wish I could do a mock up to show you what an impact these changes would make.
