Need help on small powder room

We're building and at the tile selection stage. Our powder room is 7x5 with beadboards. Is it me or the beadboards make the room appear even smaller? It is off of the mudroom but I want it to look pretty not utility. Would love some help on picking the right tiles. The sales person recommended a mosaic. Unsure since I have never had it. Not sure whether it would look too busy for a small space - in addition to the beadboards. Also would it be more maintenance due to more grout? Please help! Thanks in advance.

You could carry through the tiles from the mudroom, either continue them or lay them in a different way (on the diagonal for example). If you want it to look really pretty, you could opt for a lovely wallpaper in there, like acm mentioned. Mirror, lighting, faucet, toilet, basin... all those items make the difference in a stylish instead or utilitarian look :-)

Clarification: the large brown tile in photo is that for the mudroom. Disregard the stone in the background.

The mosaic in your picture is a natural marble mosaic, which be be a fair amount of maintenance. Re-sealing the stone periodically will be needed.
The mosaic shown is a more elegant look, and bead-board has more of a casual, country, farm house, etc look.

Thank you, Carol. So what can I use to make this powder room less casual? Almost regretting the beadboard choice. How can I dress it up?

Just a couple photos of current condition. Hope they're not too dark. To the right is where a white 36" vanity will be and to the left is the toilet.

I find this confusing. Are you choosing flooring or backsplash? Is the granite shown your countertop?
