Yes hanger over door. Not on glass.

Because your door is so tall, unless the harger is extremley long, the decoration may be sitting too high on your door.

I use a two small thumbtacks and a nice sateen ribbon on my door, tacking the ribbon to the very top of the door. the flush thumbtacks will allow the door to close without messing up any rubber gaskets that seal out the air around the door. Fold the ribbon one time onto itself so it doesn't tear. Use a small hammer to tap them into the top of the wood door and then a flat head screwdriver to pull them out when the season is over.

I like swsink's recommendation. You choose the color and style of ribbon plus the length. I'm using this idea instead of the over the door hooks. Thanks.
