Is this headboard worth trying to bring to life? Pls help.

I 'found' this headboard/ footboard for 1 of 4 guest rooms and thought I could be creative with bringing it to life... Can this thing be saved... It's dirt cheap so I thought i could save since I have 4 guest rooms and a master bedroom to finish.... Any ideas?
Paint ideas such as color, designs, or anything or should I just send to furniture heaven?

I am playing with room wall colors in the grey family. Soft grey.

Darker gray or white should look good.

Oh, keep it, keep it, keep it! It's hard to find bookcase headboards like that. I don't have any ideas for you re painting, etc but even if you painted it white it will be a beautiful piece. I love bookcase headboards! :).

I agree! Keep it! I would paint it and maybe have the inside of the bookshelves a different colour to the rest.

I would paint the outer part a white and paint the back of each cubby gray or wallpaper. Perfect for guests. So nice for books, decorative tissue box, tray for keys or eyeglasses.

Hi---it's adorable. I recommend painting it a color-will add some warmth paired with the gray wall color---a buttery yellow/buttercream or orchid hue would look nice. Lining the inside shelves with wallpaper or decoupaged scrapbook papers-pattern should incorporate gray and color of bed. Hope this is helpful. Good Luck!

You could also do a gray that's a little darker than the walls.

what color is the room it's going in? I can see it in an all black...then anything you put on it will pop out it's own color. Or white if the room is going shabby chic style... or what about a dusty green too... just some other options...

It looks very cheap to me so the only two things I would consider is either shiny black or distressing it.

@ Hayleydaniels... I presume it is cheap considering its from a thrift store ☺️☺️... I was hoping a good paint job would give it wealthy life or at least middle-class life

The room is very small 10x11 so I wanted to keep the colors light as possible... I'm looking at some light hue of grey.

Haven't decided on the wall color yet

If u do a grey wall. I would go with a black finish on the headboard. Then you can have a couple of black accent pieces in a dresser to tie it in together. If you go with white or grey painted headboard then you would want to keep the room pretty monochromatic for accents using silvers and possibly cool frosted blues
