The mild winter weather!

We had the pleasure of living in North East Mississippi and we loved the warmer climate. The people are more warm and friendly. Back in central Illinois, 12 years later, we still miss it.

Honestly sitting on the roof watching the stars and long summers. I use to live in East Texas, though moved to NY near lake Ontario. TBH I like the weather up here a little bit more. Though I ski in the winter and boat in the summer when some of the lakes in my home town are to low to go boating. It all depends on what you like, I think I can make the most of any place I am at.

We live in Louisiana and the food, music and hospitable people are exceptional! Mild weather most of the year. We live far enough inland that natural disasters are extremely rare. Life is good!

Year round gardening! Zone 7b is the best climate! Not too hot...not too cold...Goldie Locks favorite. :)

Lush gardens , warm friendly people, four seasons in northern Georgia and southern architecture . Did I mention the food?

You get more house for your dollar, LOTS more, the food is far more interesting, the climate is fabulous and from personal experience, I found the people to be much more inclined to welcome in new comers. I'm back living in the upper Midwest which I prefer because of the seasons and its where my family is, but there certainly are days when I drift off into memories of living southern east coast.....ahhhh mountains nearby, oceans nearby...yeah, good memories.

I've lived both coasts and lots of in between, but now in lower Georgia, and housing is just an amazing bargain. Friends in Portland, Oregon need $1200. A month for small apt., bad neighborhood. Friends in California have had to leave. If you teach, housing price and commute are crucial. Didn't like Augusta, ga. They Haven't gotten over Sherman, and The Masters is the only 'game' in town. Not so here in peanut and Cotton farming country. We have a beautiful, secure home, low property taxes and I've never been called a Yankee. Not crazy for the politics, but we're pushing!
