how much natural light do you have in the room during the day? the lower color seems too close in color with the white cabinets and not enough contrast like the top color would give. But, then the darker grey seems too close in color with the countertops. Maybe you should do a painted section of the darker color up against the countertops to see how it would look. If the only colors in the whole room will be grey, white cabinets and darker grey counters, I would even choose a different wall color rather than choosing grey.

here is one that would give you an idea. The darker grey works for this kitchen [houzz=]

The upper color looks like it has some green in it that works well with your countertop.

a soft blue? 'new' tile?

I like the top color. Nice contrast to the cabinets. Good luck! :)

I agree with just about everyone else, top color is my preference.

Although it will be easier to tell, having a zoom-out picture of the room etc, I can see a hint of green on a wall at the background. I would then go for the green-beige pallet but I would choose darker colours than the ones you show. I would go for example for a Shaker Beige HC-45 by Benjamin Moore. You want the cupboards to stick out. On the ceiling I would go for Mayonnaise OC-85 which will give a softer hue.

Polished pebble is a fab clean fresh grey. Would look great.

Don't care for either. A light shade of sunlit gold would be nice. Behr has a color called "stable hay" that is gentle and warm. Used it with linen white woodwork throughout our living area and love it. Would look great with the shades of white and grey you are using.

yellow?

I agree with Elina. You have a dark green wall in the background, so you need to consider that in picking out wall color for kitchen. A dark colored wall would make cabinets in kitchen pop.

Go with grey and even for that green wall could perhaps use some grey a little darker on that one .

Maggie Anderson - can you post a photo please. Picking a color for our remodel and my husband is a little colorphobic. OK, he freaked out at our mustard color sample on the wall. Thenks!

SWilliams has one called Friendly Yellow, or even paler, for less drama a touch of warmth.....

I think Amy forgot she posted this question :) she hasn't joined in on the conversation since the 1st post
