Advise on replacing my kitchen sink

I have a porcelain Ameerican Standard Silhouette sink that was installed in 2001. It has chipped from the very beginning (I can't believe I put up with it for so long!) I have repaired it over and over but I need to replace it. The problem is it is installed under a granite countertop and Ameican Standard no longer makes this sink so I can't swap it out. They don't even make the liners- why they also look so bad in the photo. I don't know how I can put in another sink without replacing the countertop too. Any suggestions?

Watch the video in the link above. Then look under you sink inside the cabinet and see if you have clips. If so your sink can be removed .

Look for a replacement sink the same size and shape or something a little larger. Ask a stone fabricator/granite shop to cut the hole larger and mount the sink..

Thanks for your help! Yes, I have clips but the silhouette sink on the website is not the same model so it is a different shape. I have looked high and low for a similar shape but will keep looking for one slightly larger. Maybe that would work

I contacted American Standard about the same sink and they sent a new one for free. You have nothing to lose. Just call them.

Just talked to American Standard - no help. No sinks. Only advise was to find a bigger sink and cut the hole bigger, as Martha suggested. Will look into that.

Two friends installed darker coloured composite sinks, they love them. Pretty sure they are from Home Depot. Taupe brown colour, looks great with their granite counters.

It's criminal that American Standard could produce a sink of such poor quality. Doubtless, there are many others in your situation. The reviews on your sink are horrific.

I finally had my sink reporcelained and am SO pleased. It was somewhat expensive but much less than having a custom sink made for the place which I finally decided was my only option. So far it is beautiful and I am really pleased

Hi mayma, I'm in the exact same shoe as you, stuck with the exact same horrible porcelain sink that I cannot find a replacement. May I ask how did you fix your sink? did you DIY or get professional help?

No I did not do it myself. It has to be done by a professional. In years past I did do little repairs with a porcelain repair it (it is like a thick paint) but the sink was past that and needed professional help, it was not cheap but less than a custom sink and so far I am very happy with it.

It was about $600. They were able to do it in place and not remove it and take it to the shop which they sometimes need to do.
