It doesn't read as an ''island'' unless it's all the same color. Right now, it reads as ''awkward pony wall with wrong colored cabinets attached'' You want a coherent whole.

I know - 'mural' it - do something really different and paint/ stencil not necessarily kitchen items, but stripes/ zig zags in the same configuration sort of thing as the shape of the counter [which is interesting].... satin and another finish.......! oh and good morning.....

and save some paint if you tire of it.......
