My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Are aluminium windows in steel frames problematic?

Lovely house! I have been searching for info on aluminium windows attached directly to steel frames, but find very little. Other than construction tolerances and thermal transfer by the frame, do you find it a problematic approach? May thanks!

    Thanks for your question about our Port Ludlow house. The structural steel frame was rigorously isolated from the aluminum window frames, since galvanic corrosion can occur when steel is in direct contact with aluminum.

    jackholloway. We also installed all of the exterior windows and doors to steel substrate. We used bituminous paint to isolate the two dissimilar metals. You can check our project at http://www.houzz.com/projects/827629/tin-box-by-holly-zickler-and-david-rifkind
