help with hardware finish in kitchen

I would love to get some feedback regarding which finish looks better with these cabinets-the satin nickel or the darker, brushed pewter. I have stainless appliances and faucet, and the table and pendant lighting is crystal with shiny chrome finish. My counters are dark uba tuba granite. Please see pics attached and thanks in advance for your help!

Gorgeous choices! This is purely opinion, but I would definitely go with the satin nickel. I think it will go well with the rest of your choices. And I have similar color cabinets and I tried a darker handle/knob, and it was not looking good to me. I would go with what makes you happy. Good luck! :)

I find both are not that complimentary to your very modern lighting. Thought I would provide a picture for additional idea for a shiny but traditional feel, but it's really a personal choice.

I don't think you can go wrong with either choice! Personally, I like the satin nickel ones, but the pewter finish offers a nice contrast.

Your cabinets are fairly ornate so a simpler knob would not be "too much". I also like the idea of picking up the black in your counters and mixing up the metals just a bit.

Thanks for your comment, however I thought the lighting was transitional and could fit in with a traditional decor. I was concerned at first that it was too modern but it is really lovely in person and I think it will work just fine.

I like the darker finish.....the pull looks a little large. Hopefully it will fit on the panels of all of your drawer fronts.

On its own, I prefer the contrast of the brushed pewter in the picture but I think the satin nickel might be a better fit for your kitchen. Satin nickel, chrome and stainless reflect more light than the pewter and would complement the light fixture nicely.

Just taking a second look. Maureen has a point about the shiny finish for the hardware. You have the traditional glazed cabinets and the very shiny chrome lights. If you're going for a transitional look you need to find a way to blend the two styles. Not sure what other elements you plan on having in the space.

With either of your choices, perhaps consider a fixture that is similar (both in color and style) to your hardware. I selected the ones below, due to the traditional cupboard front as well.

I'd keep it going and use crystal for my knobs. Use black for the finish to tie in the uba tuba.

Both look great. I think it's a personal preference. I love the satin nickel, and think it will look beautiful with you lighting and appliances. On the other hand, the darker finish may tie in very well with the uba tuba.

Do most people think that hardware and lighting need to match? I like different finishes....for example bronze hardware and copper lighting...BUT I am not a professional, so take what I say with a grain of salt...would some of you go to my thread and help me out with paint questions?

I love your lights and rooms that blend different styles and finishes. I just had a change of heart about the hardware. Not so much about the finish but about the pewter having more of an antique style. I still think that will work but feel you need to add some of the modern bling to some of your kitchen décor. Doesn't have to be in the hardware.

What glaze is on the this sample door. Our hardware on our bisque color is Oil Rubbed Bronze that shows a dark and light color on it so it can go with more things. So it is two tones. What is the Glaze color on the sample?

We like the colors together but the glaze is way too prominent. But the Pull has two colors in it. What glaze colors would work with this Amerock Swirlz pull? This might help the original poster to see this issue and the advice for this question too!
