I wouldn't do another pair of something else in your dining room. You already have the pair of hanging globes, pair of ladder tables, pair of accessories atop you ladder tables, and pairs of chairs. Since your globe lights address either end of the table, perhaps you can find something to give you light that is part of a single centerpiece for the table.

Well, I like the one with the shades. However, the problem is that it begins to look like an altar. You need to find some fabric or table cloth that is kind of scrunched up and gives the feeling of motion. It will tie things together and not look so stiff. Everything is a little too balanced. Make your centerpiece flowing with bounty - even overflowing on to the table.

Try moving the ladder shelves out and see how things look. They don't seem to be adding anything to the room. Sometimes less is more.

You do need some art work - or maybe a collection of antique platters or even unusual
baskets - something to give movement to the room.

Good pieces in the room, though I would be careful of too much symmetry. Perhaps move both ladder shelves together on one side of the fireplace, and a large painting on the other side. Groups of three are always easy on the eye.

You could use some color and softness atop the table. Perhaps a well-selected silk arrangement (large) that sits a little higher than the one you have. You can surround with votive candles when you give a dinner party.

How about a pretty table runner topped with a row of green plants for color and texture?
If possible, also consider dropping the height of your light fixtures, as the are hung abnormally high over your table.

I agree with Michigammemom about using a lengthwise table runner as seen in her photo.

I would choose a densely woven fabric with lots of jewel tones especially gold....could be a tapestry type or Navajo type fabric.

I also like the ideas of either multiple low candles as shown in the photo or the single floral arrangement mentioned by another contributor.

Chandeliers should be approx 30"- 36" above your table top.
