Need help designing basement

I would love advice on design layout, furniture, fabrics and decor of our basement. We live in the mountains and my style is Modern Rustic. I have a white art table and white homeschool table area on the opposite side of the wood stove next to the big windows. It's very warm and is dusty and dirty due to the wood stove and furniture is an issue. leather (will it melt or get ruined due to heat?) or fabric? What color furniture? I'm thinking of a L-shaped couch with a leather chair in front of the wood stove? Where should a tv go? Any ideas would be helpful! Thanks!

The paint you have on the walls may be alright with tan leather couches etc, though I like the white

It would look good painted off white, with tan leather couches, with burlap curtains like in pic, leather will be fine, won't melt, you can treat leather by waxing every 6 months, like I do, it's so durable

Thanks for the ideas! What do you guys think about putting a tv on a black stand next to the stove and bookshelf on the other side? And hanging family pictures with black frames on the big wall with the leather couch in front of it?

I would choose leather if the room is dusty. If the TV area is on the stove side of the room, I would definitely put the TV opposed the windows. A sectional would work well. Line the back of it up with the ledge under the windows (just so it looks more intentional).

ER612, i would but it's a mess at the moment! =) Its an awkward space and is full of music equipment and a small kids fuseball table. its next to a tiny room under the stairs with a humidifier and instruments in it.

Do you think a sectional leather couch with 1 leather chair?

Do you need a leather chair? I just think it will seem bulky and/or crowded. Normally, I'd suggest a fabric accent chair but I think I'd skip it considering the dust (plus a sectional seems like enough in the space). Is the area opposite the the windows on the stove side of the room open or is there a wall? I was thinking there was a wall, which is why I suggested placing the TV opposite the windows. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The side opposite the windows is open but is full of amps and music gear as well as a kid size fuse ball table. It's an awkward space.=( Currently, I have a book shelf closest to the window angled and a tv on the other side of the stove. Do you think that's ok? I have a fabric chair i can use that's down here already if we get the leather sectional. I like that idea.
What kind of a tv stand would you recommend? Black? A tall one?

Do you think gray would be a good option too instead of brown? I could go either way but was just thinking about a different color since i have a brown rug.

Whew! I didn't want to insult you! In that case, I like the grey leather…but it depends on the color of the rug. Is it dark brown?

Ha ha.=) I just posted that pic really quick and didn't look closely. Yeah, i was thinking gray or brown leather. I guess i could buy a different rug. I have a shag dark brown rug. We got it awhile back It's cozy and works hiding the dust and dirt that gets tracked in.

Also, any ideas on what style tv stand? We won't have a huge screen tv but one that will be a decent size for a stand.

By partitioning the room you could use the area near the exterior door as playroom space, and create a dedicated TV/media room at the end with the stove. The new wall would allow for a new sectional in an L-shape facing the stove and the TV screen. Use a color as deep as the lower wall is now for a Home Theater atmosphere. In the playroom use the same color in a lighter shade.

Thank you Jeffery. That is acutally the other layout i've been doing when i want to switch it up.;) I guess i just need to save some money to finish decorating with the ideas given.=)
