I need help with my very small kitchen remodel! Are two penisulas too much?

The designer feels that the 2 penisulas work. It looks nice on paper but I'm worried the kitchen will feel crowed and maze like with both penisulas. Additionally this would require the stove being moved from it's current location (where the fridge is shown in the plans) across from the sink which I'm not sure would function well for me cooking wise. I would appreciate some help as we want to get this project going!

It looks a bit cramped and awkward....perhaps move the stove to the empty wall on the left to create more of a u-shaped layout, and ditch the bar area that is cutting the space in half.

I've been staring at this for a while. I cant convince myself to tell you this is good. It's more functional design rather than aesthetic design only by the virtue of added countertop and storage. If you can find a new place for the microwave then axe the other peninsula. If your kitchen is small then having the sink and stove on opposite walls shouldn't be a problem if it's only a few steps. I try to have them on the same run or adjacent walls.

Not good. Why that second peninsula like that when you could have a small (perhaps portable) island instead? And why is the wall to the left of the stove wall left blank?

If that isn't an opening to another room, I would continue that counter to the right of your sink all the way to the stove wall, adding a corner cabinet. Give you lots more counter space.

If it IS an opening, I would 86 the tiny eating area and make it ALL kitchen, adding a nice big island. You'd gain counter space and an eating area by adding stools.

I got rid of my U shaped kitchen layout to add an island and we love it. Seats 6 people and we practically live there. Good luck!

I do not like the design. It does not feel like it will be comfortable to work in.. i would suggest Xing out that peninsula where microwave is and mounting it about the stove at the very least. You are only adding 2 drawers and yet really cutting off your flow. It will make it feel cramped in my opinion. Is there even much space for sitting at that table if fridge door gets opened???
    I would reconsider this design.
Add some glass in some uppers as well to visually lighten and open the space.

HI -- Sorry stephan - it looks a little rats maze to me. You could tape it out on the floor or put cardboard boxes in the planned spots and see how it feels. Is that a doorway to the left of the stove ? I find it is best to have the stove and sink on the same side and the fridge and micro and storage on the other .Sometimes things look fine on the computer mock up but don't translate well for real .Anyway , this is a puzzel .

    HI,
Could you upload actual photos of your existing kitchen from all angles and showing doorways and what's on the other side of each kitchen wall....that will help to provide ideas.
Do you have an IKEA where you live?
IKEA is the MASTER of SMALL SPACE DESIGN....you can check out their website...they have designers who can give you a very functional space.

I think considering the notion of eliminating the cafe table and creating a horseshoe shaped layout may be a worthwhile endeavor. Let us know the outcome!
