Thank you for your comments! This wall is an existing interior masonry bearing wall, constructed with the original building in the 1880s of Chicago common brick. It was covered by furring and gyp board for many years until we exposed it for the new owners. The general contractor washed and tuck-pointed the brick where necessary, but for the most part it was left in the condition we found when we uncovered it. It is a work of art in itself.
