You can do a google search. I bought bulbs from Van Engelen a few weeks ago.

Do you have an Orchard Supply (OSH) nearby? They had 2 cratefuls of pkgd. King Alfreds at 75% off.

American Meadows is advertsing sale prices.

Honestly, at this time of year, if I want bulbs I go to Lowes or Ocean State Job Lot and see if they have any on sale.

In your garden zone, I suspect that the bulbs would need to be pre-chilled before planting.

Few daffodils will rebloom in zone 9 without them being dug and chilled each year before replanting them in the fall.

I'm more than an 8 than a 9⦠lowes and hd are out⦠they throw theirs away before thanksgiving if they don't sellâ¦

Just bought a big bag of daffodil bulbs from Lowes last weekend. These were huge bulbs, many were "double nosed". The were not marked as being "King Alfred" but rather "Golden Trumpet"-the photo looked like KA to me. Anyway, at 75% off, the bag of 50 was only $5-just $0.10 per bulb. Just got them planted today. The were in pretty good shape. Also got a bag of 50 mixed Dutch Irises, again 75% off, so these were $2.50 for the bag. Got all of these in the ground as well.

I am in USDA zone 9/Sunset zone 14. I have never dug up my daffodils and they have come up and bloomed every year. I do know that TULIP bulbs need to be dug up and chilled each year in my zone in order to get them to bloom. Since you are in USDA zone 8, I would think that your daffodils could bloom every year without digging them up and chilling them.

'Golden Trumpet' probably has better petal substance than 'King Alfred'. I switched to 'Carlton'. Its trumpet wasn't as long, but the flower lasted much better. I'll be on the lookout next year for 'Goldn.Trum.'
No digging up here either! And one per hole so they can multiply to heart's content.
