kitchen with no windows

we are building a house with a kitchen that faces towards our dining room out to a view of our pond. There are no windows right in the kitchen. Not sure where to put the sink....if a dishwasher and sink don't fit in the island is it strange to have a sink facing the other direction and not under a window? thanks.

I would rather have the sink facing the wall than be in the island. Place the sink mid span of the wall and just make sure you don't have any upper cabinets above the sink. A nice piece of artwork or a backsplash will complete the area.
