I too have ordered some of those same cucumbers for my unheated greenhouse. I have had a lot of luck growing other veggies in it during this winter, some things that you can also grow outside, but it doesn't have to compete with the weather this way like peas and lettuces (or bugs for that matter). I am looking forward to my cucumber seeds coming soon. Last year I had great luck starting tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, and other cucumbers. But, this time I am going to put them into barrels or big pots and trellis them up my greenhouse wall. Let me know how yours are doing. I live in California, in the central valley.

This particular variety was first mentioned more than a decade ago! And has been touched upon a couple of times since. They are pretty pricey but if any of you have been successful growing them and liked them, I'd love to give them a shot. Could you please tell me your experience--good, bad or ugly? I'd love to hear whatever you think!

Just FYI, note that Pepinex is gynoecious, meaning that it mainly produces female flowers. As a result, if you want assurance of getting fruit, you need to plant some other variety nearby to provide male pollen. Somewhat oddly, Territorial identifies them as monoecious, which I believe is formally incorrect. Now, I think seed companies sometimes blend a few monoecious seeds in a packet of gynoecious seeds to do the job, but you might want to be sure about that.

I have not grown Pepinex, but have grown other gynoecious varieties. FWIW, my understanding is that such varieties are more disease resistant.
